What Reviews Say

94 reviews analyzed

A Dog's Tale LLC receives overwhelmingly positive reviews (85% are 5-star) with particular praise for owner Amy's genuine love of animals, dedicated staff, and the obvious happiness of dogs attending. However, a small but significant number of concerning reviews (approximately 10% are 1-star) highlight serious issues including a dog attack incident, facility sanitation problems (broken septic system, overcrowding with 75+ dogs), and dogs contracting illnesses. The owner responds professionally to some negative reviews but occasionally appears defensive. Long-term loyalty is strong, with many clients using the facility for 5+ years.

Worth noting

Dog attack/fight incident - 25 dogs with only 2 staff members supervising

My dog was attacked by other dogs in her facility and she said I signed a waiver stated they will not pay for vet fees. Never again will my dog step in a establishment with 25 dogs running around loose with only two people watching over all the dogs.

Broken septic system and severe sanitation issues - grey water backing up, flooded grooming room, stagnant pools of urine

The SEPTIC TANK on site is BROKEN and grey water constantly backs up through the drains in the building. The grooming room can often be found flooded with dark water... The floor remains damp at all times... the floor becomes a cesspool of foul smells and substances.

Overcrowding - 75+ dogs in one space, no separation by size or temperament

Small dogs are overwhelmed in the one space for all 75+ dogs. Stinks in there!

Dogs getting sick - multiple upper respiratory infections, eye infections, warts from dirty equipment

My dog has been nothing but sick going to this place. I have spent over $800 in vet bills... He had an upper respiratory infection 3 times, eye infection and now has this huge growth on his mouth... It's wart from sharing dirty toys or bowls, according to my vet.

Facility cleanliness and sanitation(4 mentions)

When you walk into the building, you are immediately slapped in the face with the smell of sour sewage... The industrial, warehouse-like play room is constantly moist and infested with stagnant pools of water and urine.

Overcrowding and lack of dog separation(3 mentions)

There is no individualization of care... dogs of all temperaments and sizes are forced together into the same space... Even if a dog wishes to sleep, they are forced into a wire crate lining the walls of the playroom.

Grooming quality issues

The groomer shaved my entire pom! No lion cut, no mane, and they trimmed his tail down to a little ball of fluff.
