What Reviews Say

43 reviews analyzed

AnimaLodge Pet Resort enjoys overwhelmingly positive reviews with 34 out of 43 reviews giving 5 stars. Customers consistently praise the caring staff, the excitement dogs show when arriving, and the safe environment. The facility excels at dog daycare but has received serious complaints about boarding incidents including a potential abuse allegation, a dog contracting kennel cough, and a dog becoming seriously ill during an extended stay without staff noticing. The owner responds professionally to all negative reviews. Main concerns are around billing policies for Sunday pickups and lack of transparency about supervision hours during overnight boarding.

Worth noting

Potential neglect/abuse during boarding - dog returned with shaved patches, timid behavior

He seemed very timid, depressed and quiet... he had patches where his furr was cut/trimmed down to the skin. Blotches of hair removed around his neck and in various areas down his back and legs.

Dog contracted kennel cough after boarding

I just boarded my dog there, now he has the worst kennel cough. Was hacking all night.

Serious illness went unnoticed during extended stay - dog diagnosed with giardia and bacterial infection

With all that 'supposed' attention no one noticed he has terrible diarreha, was not eating, and rapidly losing weight... He was diagnosed with a bacterial infection and giardia.

Billing/policy confusion - Sunday pickup charges(2 mentions)

We were informed that we 'misunderstood' what we were told and they could not refund for Sunday. Their 'cut off' time for the second day was at 2 p.m. but oddly enough, they don't open on Sundays until 2:30.

Lack of supervision during extended boarding hours

They leave at 6pm and do not return until 6:30am, that is 12.5 hours that your pet is completely alone without ANY supervision.

Inconsistent staff professionalism

The front desk is very unprofessional and gets flustered and stressed when you simply ask for a pen.

No cameras in boarding area (only daycare)

I showed Russ my dog and my dog showed signs of being very uncomfortable when Russ came into the room... I took him back to day camp yesterday as they have cameras for that but not for the boarding area.
