What Reviews Say

45 reviews analyzed

Canine Cottage receives overwhelmingly positive reviews (87% 5-star) with customers praising the owner's genuine love for dogs, spacious property with a swimming pond, and her canine training expertise. Many customers have been using the facility for 6-10 years and recommend it highly for active dogs. However, there is one serious safety incident review describing a dog sustaining injuries (puncture wounds, skin irritation) while in care that required veterinary treatment, with the owner refusing to take responsibility or reimburse vet costs. This single negative review (1/5) represents a significant red flag regarding accountability and transparency when issues arise.

Worth noting

Dog injured while in facility care - puncture wounds and skin irritation requiring vet treatment

One was completely raw with bloody scabs from his chin down his neck. The other dog had two large wounds on his left ear, one was a deep puncture wound that had slightly healed over. $230 dollars later, he is on two types of antibiotics.

Owner refused to take responsibility or reimburse for vet bills

They do not plan to reimburse me because I waited a week to call them. They claim either my other dog did it or he 'ran into a tree', and also said that he was not injured there.

Owner responsiveness to issues

I called this establishment to let them know what happened and to try to get answers and to be reimbursed... They do not plan to reimburse me.
