What Reviews Say

75 reviews analyzed

Central Bark Poughkeepsie is overwhelmingly beloved by customers, with 95% of reviews giving 5 stars. The facility excels in staff friendliness, communication, and dog happiness - dogs are described as excited to arrive and coming home calm and enriched. The owner Denise and her team are praised for genuinely loving dogs, including those with anxiety or behavioral challenges. There is one significant negative review citing health and safety concerns (diarrhea, dehydration, crate accidents) with an unsatisfactory owner response, representing a notable red flag. However, the vast majority experience excellent care, with strong highlights around grooming, training, and the clean, state-of-the-art facility.

Worth noting

Dog health issues (diarrhea) reported after daycare visits

each time our dog Archie came home with diarrhea

Potential dehydration concerns

each time they go here they seem to be very dehydrated because they each drink an entire bowl of water as soon as they get home

Crate accidents during supervision

our other dog Dexter pooped and peed in his crate and they had to give him a bath. This is the SECOND time this happened

Phone/customer service responsiveness

Called Central Bark to request information prior to boarding my boy from out of town, was put on hold for over 5 minutes and then got hung up on before speaking to anyone.

Owner response to concerns

I brought it up to the owner. She did not apologize or express any concern.
