What Reviews Say

137 reviews analyzed

Little Red Doghouse enjoys overwhelmingly positive reviews with 114 of 137 reviews giving 5 stars. Customers praise the caring staff, clean facility, excellent communication via daily Facebook videos, and the free trial that helps dogs adjust gradually. The main concerns are breed restrictions (pit bulls not accepted due to past incident), a tragic dog attack fatality involving a small dog, and some complaints about kennel cough communication. The owner responds personally to every review, including negative ones, with warm, empathetic responses. Most dogs clearly love attending, with many owners reporting their pets drag them inside and come home exhausted and happy.

Worth noting

Dog attack resulting in fatality - small dog attacked by larger dog, had to be euthanized due to brain trauma

He was attacked by another dog and was rushed to VREC next door. He had to be euthanized due to severe brain trauma and other complications from the attack.

Kennel cough outbreak - multiple dogs contracted kennel cough

Picked up two dogs with kennel cough... We were given our dogs, asked to pay & that was it. Nothing was said to us.

Dog returned uninjured/not eating - dog came home with wound on nose, hoarse bark, thirsty and tired

I noticed he had a healing wound on his nose... he tried barking at a cat with the most hoarse and painful looking bark.

Breed restrictions - pit bull/lab mixes refused service

They refused to take him because he's a pittbull/lab mix.

Breed discrimination(2 mentions)

They refused to take him because he's a pittbull/lab mix. Very disappointed.

Lack of communication about issues(3 mentions)

Nothing was said to us... We should have been made aware of the issue the second this started.

Dogs not compatible with facility - turned away or not allowed back(2 mentions)

We were told they didn't do well there and were not allowed back.

Kennel cough exposure(2 mentions)

Picked up two dogs with kennel cough.
