What Reviews Say

55 reviews analyzed

My Dog's Place is overwhelmingly beloved by clients, with 80% of reviews giving 5 stars. The facility excels in dog happiness (dogs eagerly anticipate visits, return tired and content), staff kindness (frequently praised for patience and genuine care), and positive reinforcement training. However, there are notable concerns: the owner Marge receives mixed reviews (some praise her involvement, others call her rude/condescending), the enrollment process is criticized as overly complicated with mandatory classes during work hours, and age policies (kicking puppies out at 6 months) frustrate working parents. One serious safety incident involving a puppy injury during training represents a red flag. The few 1-2 star reviews (8 total) tend to focus on owner behavior, rigid policies, and billing issues rather than core services.

Worth noting

Dog injury during training - larger puppy body-slammed smaller puppy twice, staff did not intervene proactively

They allowed a much larger puppy (40 pds to my pups 17 pds) to body slam my puppy twice (she cried & was visible hurt & upset never having been treated this way) until I said it was unacceptable.

Owner described as rude, condescending, and manipulative

She is the most condescending/rude/manipulative person I have talked to in a long time

Dog banned from facility due to barking - no chance to improve

The owner Marge would not allow my dog back due to his barking.

Enrollment process too difficult/time-consuming(2 mentions)

They require you to take a class at their facility then need to do interviews and in person visits with the dog. I found it frustrating because the times they provided to do this were all during my work hours

Age restrictions causing disruption - puppies kicked out at 6 months until 'fixed'

At 6 months they kick you out until you fix your dog (and don't really provide this info up front). Unfortunately my vet says 9 months for the overall health of my dog.

Mandatory additional classes for adult daycare

We are now getting communication about another mandatory 7 week class for 'adult daycare' once he's 'welcomed back'.

Billing issues - late fees unexpectedly applied

This time I forgot. So on the day I chose to use the 4th one (two weeks after initial 'bill') I received a resent bill with a $6 'late payment' fee.

Perceived as expensive

I'm finding that My dogs place is one of the most expensive out there.
