What Reviews Say

382 reviews analyzed

Olde Towne Pet Resort receives overwhelmingly positive reviews for its caring staff, clean facilities, and effective webcam monitoring that gives pet owners peace of mind. However, there are serious safety concerns including a dog death due to negligence, physical abuse by staff, and a Bordetella outbreak without customer notification. While most dogs thrive and owners praise the staff's genuine love for animals, the facility faces recurring complaints about pricing increases and occasional communication gaps during boarding stays.

Worth noting

Dog returned severely malnourished, dehydrated with rectal prolapse requiring $3000+ emergency vet care

He appeared severely malnourished, with his ribcage visibly protruding, dehydrated, and extremely anxious. His behind/anus were raw and inflamed, and he still had feces from ongoing diarrhea in his fur.

Dog killed due to staff negligence - large breed dogs placed in small dog's kennel

A staff member put TWO LARGE BREED DOGS in Chanel's kennel during boarding.

Staff physically abusing dog - pinning and hitting

I caught a staff member pinning my dog to the ground and hitting him. When I called they told me he had peed on her foot and she was disciplining him.

Bordetella outbreak with no customer notification

Confirmed cases of Bordetella bacteria! Not a word from Olde Town. I had to hear this news as an alert from my veterinarian.

Dog returned significantly underweight and lethargic

We left our 16 pound dog here for a week and she came back as 14 pounds. Very noticeable weight drop and she came back lethargic and hungry.

Dangerous dog introduction practices - small dogs thrown with large dogs

Within 5 minutes of being there, she threw him in a room with several very large dogs and they were cornering him. He was terrified.

Pricing increases and expensive costs(12 mentions)

They recently changed to a monthly subscription model which has made the prices increase SUBSTANTIALLY.

Lack of communication/photo updates during boarding(8 mentions)

I did not receive any status check during the boarding.

Grooming quality issues(6 mentions)

They didn't even dry or brush him!! Definitely not going there again!!

Too many dogs in facility/crowding concerns(5 mentions)

over 60 dogs in a room at once looks and feels like a lot. I have concerns about safety and comfort of the dogs.

Feeding portion errors(4 mentions)

Staff didn't read, just plain ole lazy, fed my dog 1/2 portion of food for his entire boarding stay.
