What Reviews Say

103 reviews analyzed

Shoreline Pet Lodge is a long-standing family-run facility with a deeply loyal customer base, many of whom have visited for over a decade and praise the staff's personalized care for special needs pets. However, the facility's reputation is currently polarized by a severe recent incident involving a dog's death from heat exhaustion and complaints regarding the suitability of the physical space for large breeds. While many dogs are described as 'leaping out of the car' to enter, a subset of reviews raises serious concerns about hydration, sanitation during boarding, and a reliance on concrete play areas.

Worth noting

Pet fatality due to heat exhaustion

They let my greyhound overheat and die after six hours of being there. He was brought to the vet rigor mortis with a body temperature still of 110 degrees.

Medical emergencies (seizures/dehydration)

two more were sent to the ER in the same week for having seizures due to dehydration.

Inadequate care for large breeds

They are not equipped to handle large breeds... they were insistent that he wouldn’t come through the gate because he was aggressive, however it was simply because he wouldn’t fit!

Sanitation/Hygiene issues during boarding(2 mentions)

when we picked him up he smelled horrible, like he had been laying in his pee and poop.

Hidden fees/Pricing(3 mentions)

Add-on fees for absolutely everything that isn't your pet locked in a box, despite high base fees.

Facility limitations (Concrete/Space)(2 mentions)

Over-crowded, small, concrete-only play area for daycare. No separation by energy level.
