What Reviews Say
302 reviews analyzedCamp Bow Wow Loveland is overwhelmingly well-regarded by its customers, with the vast majority of reviews being 5-star. The most frequently praised aspects include the friendly, caring, and professional staff, the visible happiness and tiredness of dogs after daycare/boarding, the webcam system that provides owners with peace of mind, and the clean facility. Many reviewers note that their dogs get excited to arrive and are well-socialized. The grooming services are also a popular add-on. Recurring positive themes include great communication, accommodating last-minute needs, and a calendar of fun enrichment activities. Negative reviews, while fewer, highlight several recurring issues: concerns about space being smaller or more crowded than other locations, grooming quality complaints (uneven cuts, rushed service), dogs becoming ill (kennel cough, giardia) after visits, perceived unfairness in the interview process for some dogs, and occasionally poor communication or attitudes from specific staff (most notably 'Tara'). A few serious red flags include a dog being kept in a kennel instead of allowed to play, a dog that jumped a fence and was refused a video, and a dog that became severely ill, allegedly due to a feeding mistake, with a lack of accountability from management. Overall, the facility earns very high marks for staff warmth and dog happiness, though some operational consistency and safety concerns are noted by a small minority of customers.

Worth noting
Dog not let out to play / kept in kennel despite daycare booking
βSorry to say I won't be taking my dog back there, she wasn't out there playing for doggy day camp , they kept her in the kennel, and they had many excuses but it happened 3 times too many. If I hadn't caught them by the camera nothing would have been said..poor management!!!!β
Dog became ill (kennel cough / upper respiratory) after visit
βWhen I left that day my dog came down with Kennal cough. Got her on antibiotics and waited 1 day shy of 2 weeks to return.β
Dog suffered illness / distress attributed to feeding mistake, owner unaccountable
βLovelandβs Camp Bow Wow was a MAJOR disappointment to us. We had used their boarding service before, but we were not prepared for how ill our dog became under their βsupervisionβ. Mistakes happen and we believe they made a mistake in their feeding care of our dog.β
Dog jumped fence / was asked to be picked up immediately, refused to show video
βTara tells me, he jumped the fence. I ask, can you put him in the kennel? β¦no, we are asking that you come & get him ASAP. β¦ We asked to see videos & we were denied.β
Dog failed interview due to perceived aggression but reviewer felt it was unfair / poor handling
βWe dropped our puppy off this morning for an interview. β¦ the receptionist would kick other dogs to create space between them β¦ She sent our puppy out saying she didn't pass the interview because she was growling at other dogs and was aggressive. She's 10 lbs and 10 months.β
Large playgroups with only one staff member, safety concerns
βThe playgroups seem very large to only have one staff member member monitoring them. They should pay more so people want to work here. I worry it's only a matter of time until a serious accident occursβ
Grooming quality complaints: choppy cut, rushed service, dog still wet, full price for partial service
βDog grooming was lacking, took our dog to get a trim, they didnβt trim our dogs sides or tail and all the cuts are very choppy, was not worth the money it costs.β
Dog shaved without owner consent due to matting
βMy wife picked up Zachery today from a grooming and came home in tears. Zachry went in as a golden doodle and came home as a French poodle! Who ever groomed him didnβt take the time to brush and trim. The groomer decided to take the easy way out and just shave him!β
Tip culture / staff unhappiness perceived
βThe place is amazing, but the tip culture is getting out of hand. The staff are clearly not happy to be there, and I wouldn't be either if my boss was trying to pawn a liveable wage off on the customersβ
Breed discrimination / unfair interview assessment
βBreed discrimination is rather obvious. They declined one of our dogs which has never happened, but seems to be for the best.β
Space is small / crowded compared to other locations(4 mentions)
βThe first is that the space is much much much smaller than the Fort Collins location. There are a lot of dogs in each space, with not a ton of room to run around.β
Grooming quality issues (choppy cuts, rushed service, dog still wet)(3 mentions)
βDog grooming was lacking, took our dog to get a trim, they didnβt trim our dogs sides or tail and all the cuts are very choppy, was not worth the money it costs.β

Interview process / assessment perceived as unfair or poorly handled(3 mentions)
βWe dropped our puppy off this morning for an interview. β¦ She sent our puppy out saying she didn't pass the interview because she was growling at other dogs and was aggressive.β
Communication / transparency issues (e.g., free first day policy not clear, billing issues)(2 mentions)
βThe second reason for the 3/5 is the "free first day" advertising. β¦ it is not clear at all online that that is the policy.β
Staff attitude / perceived dislike from specific staff member(2 mentions)
βTara did not seem thrilled with seeing us return. β¦ Tara has her usual not happy to see us faceβ
Large playgroups with minimal staff supervision(2 mentions)
βThe playgroups seem very large to only have one staff member member monitoring them.β
