What Reviews Say
147 reviews analyzedK9 Club is overwhelmingly praised as a premium dog daycare and boarding facility in Metro Detroit, with 130+ of 147 reviews giving 5 stars. The facility excels in staff friendliness, cleanliness, dog happiness, and facility quality. Customers particularly appreciate the small group sizes (max 12 dogs), live camera access, and caring approach with anxious or shy dogs. However, there are serious red flags including 3 high-severity incidents: a worker aggressively handling a dog, a custody dispute where management allowed an unauthorized person to remove a dog, and a dog being sick for 6+ hours without owner contact. Some customers also feel pricing is high relative to competitors. The owner responds professionally to reviews, including negative ones. Most customers are repeat visitors who highly recommend the facility.

Worth noting
Worker aggressively handled dog - shoved into wall and yanked with leash
βI saw a worker there shove my dog into a wall, put a rope leash on her and yank her aggressively multiple times, majorly overcorrecting a nonexistent issue.β
Custody dispute - unauthorized person allowed to remove dog, police called
βThe k9 club and management allowed someone who did NOT own my dog; to take my name off the account... When I attempted to pick up my dog; they called the police.... Preventing me from taking the custody back of my dog Moose.β
Dog seriously ill for 6+ hours without contacting owner, exposed to other dogs
βThe dog became ill at lunch with vomiting and bloody diarrhea. Instead of contacting her they let the dog go play with other dogs not knowing what was wrong with her. The dog was sick for 6 plus hours.β
Alleged breed discrimination against pit bull type dogs
βAfter reading reviews I've come to the conclusion k9klub simply don't want any Pit bull type breeds there. My dog is an American Bully and resembles a pit.β
Manager was rude about service dog to veteran
βThe manager that just answered, the phone needs to be retrained because she doesn't know what the duties of a service dog are... The Person that I literally talked too told Me I couldn't bring a Service Dog to the JOB!!!β
Pricing is high/expensive(5 mentions)
βThe pricing is outrageous. This is the most expensive dog daycare in the area and for what they offer it doesn't add up.β
Limited playtime during daycare hours
βThe lady said that the dogs get four 35 minute play groups a day. Huh?! My dog is there for 8 hours and he only gets to go out for 2?β
Communication about procedures lacking
βCommunication is lacking- I had just registered my dog there and no one mentioned any procedures on the phone. Namely that drop off was curbside.β
