What Reviews Say

452 reviews analyzed

Pet Play House enjoys overwhelmingly positive reviews with a 5.0 rating for dog happiness - dogs consistently come home exhausted and happy. Staff friendliness and facility cleanliness are frequently praised, with many customers noting the helpful report cards and updates. The main concerns raised are breed restrictions (pit bulls not allowed in group play), occasional strict policies around pickup times, and isolated health incidents (kennel cough, canine flu). Despite these issues, the vast majority of the 452 reviews are positive, with many customers being repeat clients for years who appreciate the caring environment and accommodating staff.

Worth noting

Dog contracted kennel cough and had unexplained scratch after boarding

โ€œBoth of my dogs came back with a strong coughing/gagging..have taken them to the vet is diagnosed with kennel cough!! Mind you both dogs are up to date on their vaccines!!!โ€

Dog came home filthy with feces on body and subsequently got sick

โ€œShe had feces all over her body and it was dried. Our girl NEVER uses the bathroom on herself... And our dog has not been herself since she came home and has a runny nose and coughโ€

Dog contracted canine flu; owner not notified of symptoms; bathed despite illness

โ€œMy dog got the canine flu at this place... they didn't call me when his symptoms started and they went ahead and gave him his scheduled bath before I picked him upโ€

Misleading 'luxury' condo description - actual space much smaller than advertised

โ€œIt looked like a standard kennel that you'd see at a humane society... There is no way this was 160 square feet. It would be generous to say this kennel could have been 90 square feetโ€

Breed restrictions (pit bull/bully breeds not allowed in group play)(4 mentions)

โ€œThey don't allow Staffordshire Terriers, Pit Bulls, or any Bull breeds/mixes to socialize with other dogsโ€

Strict pickup time policies and extra charges(3 mentions)

โ€œWe were charged $40 for day boarding since it was after 12...by 3 minutes!!!โ€

Vaccination requirement confusion(2 mentions)

โ€œNobody at pet play house told me that my dog needed two rounds of H3N2 vaccine... I was forced to cancel without my money backโ€

Price concerns(3 mentions)

โ€œDogs are safe and taken care of, but it cost more than putting a child into daycareโ€
